Sometimes, a glamorous career conceals some of the saddest stories. A winner of the USA and World competitions in hurdle events, Lolo Jones has reached her present position following many years of hard work and an sheer patience. Jones is a child born into a family of no mothers with five children who lived in the midst of poverty and struggle in her early years, went through an incredibly difficult childhood. She was constantly traveling and even lived in a basement church for a brief length of time. Jones was forced to move into a new school every the year until she reached her senior year because of this nomadic existence. Jones loved to participate in athletics during her time at Theodore Roosevelt the high school stayed away from her mom to follow her interest. Jones, a cellist in the school's orchestra and recipient of the Gatorade state track and field player of the year was awarded the Gatorade Iowa Athlete Award at the time of her graduation from high school. Jones, when she went to college, was one of the most skilled hurdlers. She took home the 100 meter hurdles at the 2002 NCAA Track & Field Championship. Jones was also part of the team who finished second in the 100 meter relay. Jones has won indoor hurdles at NCAA Championships in both 2003 and 2004. The track career after she completed her studies In 2005 Jones took up training in pursuit of a track career. Jones was the winner of each of races, including the Torino Memorial and the Heusden Track races in this same year.
Born and raised within Cape Town South Africa Brandt moved with her family to Auckland New Zealand in her late teens. Brandt, discovered through local casting agents took the lead role of Naevia on the Starz blockbusters Spartacus Blood and Sand and Spartacus Gods of the Arena. The performance was well-loved with the audiences as well as the producers Steven S. D Knight, Sam Raimi and Sam Raimi. Mazikeen was a fan-favorite Comic book character and Vertigo/DC's series Lucifer was her character on this acclaimed Netflix show. Lesley-Ann Brandt was conceived on 2nd December 1981, in Cape Town South Africa. She's quite an accomplished New Zealand actress. Lesley Brandt and her family moved to Auckland, New Zealand in the year 1999. Her first job was at Auckland as a wholesaler after which she was promoted as an IT manager. Lesley has performed in numerous commercials after doing a couple of modelling projects. She earned her degree with a specialization acting degree in 2008. After 2009, she furthered her formal training with the Meisner technique of studying. Lesley Brandt's debut notable actor role was on the TV drama series Diplomatic Immunity, which aired in New Zealand. Lesley Brandt made a guest appearance in New Zealand's TV drama Shortland Street acting as secondary actor. She also appeared in This Is Not My Life that was inspired by Waimoana, a fictional city. Waimoana. Lesley Brandt played Naevia in the TV series Spartacus: Blood and Sand. She later portrayed the role in Spartacus: Gods of the Arena.
